  [Usage and Dosage] KALBITOR should be managed only by health care professionals with appropriate medical support to manage allergic reactions and hereditary angioedema. KALBITOR should be refrigerated and protected from light. KALBITOR is a clear, colorless liquid; the particulate matter and discoloration of each vial is visually inspected prior to administration. If there are particles or discoloration, the vial should not be used. Using a sterile technique, use a large diameter needle to remove 1 mL (10 mg) of KALBITOR from the vial. Replace the needle on the syringe with a needle suitable for subcutaneous injection. The recommended needle size is 27th. Inject KALBITOR into the skin of the abdomen, thigh or upper arm. This procedure was repeated for each of the 3 vials containing the KALBITOR dose. The injection site for each injection can be in the same or different anatomical locations (abdomen, thigh, upper arm). No site rotation is required. The injection site should be separated by at least 2 inches (5 cm) away from the anatomy of the attack. The same instructions apply to additional doses administered within 24 hours.
