[Indications] carbaglu (carglumic acid) is a carbamyl phosphate synthetase 1 (CPS 1) activator expressed as: the adjuvant treatment of acute hyperammonemia due to the deficiency of liver enzyme N-acetyl synthase (NAGS) . Maintenance therapy is used to treat chronic hyperammonemia due to the deficiency of liver enzymes N-acetylglutamate synthase (NAGS).

【Dosage】
Carbaglu treatment should be initiated, with metabolic disorders by experienced physicians.
Adult dose and method of administration
The recommended initial dose range for acute hyperammonemia is 100 mg/kg/day to 250 mg/kg/day.
The recommended maintenance dose is titrated for the age, the target of normal blood ammonia levels.
Divide to be given immediately before meals or feeding, the total daily dose is 2 to 4 times.
Each split dose should be rounded to the nearest 100 mg.
Each 200 mg tablet should be dispensed in a minimum of 2.5 ml of water and taken immediately.
